At Home Gyms: The Latest In Fitness Trends

If you want to know the latest in fitness trends, then prepared to be shocked. The biggest trend hitting the fitness world today is the trend of the at home gym! Yes that’s right, the at home gym. It used to be the case that having a gym in your own home was something reserved only for the super rich, the Hollywood celebrity, or a personal trainer. Now, however, it is much easier and cheaper than you think. Almost anyone can create there own at home gym. All you need are a few extra dollars and a spare room.

Most at home gyms are designed with a full wall of floor to ceiling mirrors. This enables you to make sure that you are in proper form when you work out and gives yourself a little extra eye candy too! Next thing that you need is a flat and even surface. If you want you can have engineered wood floors put down which cost about $2 per square foot, or you can get carpet. If you get carpet, you should make sure that it is a thin carpet, not thick a fluffy because this is bad for balance and positioning. You may want to install a ceiling fan for coolness and a television if you plan on doing workout dvds or tapes, or if you like to watch your shows while you workout.  The rest is totally and completely up to you. Some people prefer heavy equipment like treadmills, elliptical trainers, iron gyms, Bowflex Machines and more. If you can afford to purchase these, then go for it. If not, you can get some free weights from target or Wal-mart, yoga mats, yoga balls, stairs, and other smaller pieces of equipment that can be just as effective if used properly.  But if you are dead set on big pieces of equipment, remember that many companies do offer financing for their equipment, you just have to be approved.
